Don't be fooled by the picture, as this will not be a blog entry about art or anything intellectual (you should have known). I recently heard that someone asked Michelangelo how he sculpted his statue of David, and he answered that he chipped away anything that wasn't David. That is what the Holy Spirit does with us as we spend time in His presence. He chips away at anything that is not of Him.
2 Corinthians 3:15-18 (MSG) says "Whenever, though, they turn to face God as Moses did, God removes the veil and there they are- face-to-face! They suddenly recognize that God is a living, personal presence, not a piece of chiseled stone. And when God is personally present, a living Spirit, that old constricting legislation is recognized as obsolete. We're free of it! All of us! Nothing between us and God, our faces shining with the brightness of his face. And so we are transfigured much like the Messiah, our lives gradually becoming brighter and more beautiful as God enters our lives and we become like him."
I want my life to become brighter and more beautiful! It is amazing to see that all I need to do is spend time with Him. I need to let Him shape me into what I need to become. I am thankful that He is the one that is doing the work. All I do is yield.
