Candy Corn

I went to one of my favorite places today - SUPER TARGET. Just walking into the store sends a wave of happiness into my soul; it doesn't take much, does it. I was perusing the aisles, when I see the Halloween candy section. Upon seeing the signs I started craving the sweet candy corn. I immediately dropped everything else I was looking at and headed straight for the sweet candy.

When I walked into the candy section the aroma was almost too much to handle. I saw that they now have caramel candy corn and caramel, chocolate candy corn. The choices are just too much. But then, I regain my composure and recall that I have issues with candy corn. While it is one of my favorite candies, I have a love hate relationship with it. I can't just eat a handful of the corn, I just keep eating and eating and eating until I feel sick. Yes, I am 36 years old, and I can still eat so much candy that I make myself sick, it is sad. So, I wheel my cart around so fast that Kate says "weeee" and get away from the candy section as quickly as I can.

So, Derek, does that mean you get sick when you've had too much of me??

I admire your willpower to walk away. Not sure I would have. :)

You are stronger than I am. I indulge and gorge. It's bad, but I figure it's one month in twelve!

I'm obsessed with sour gummy worms. I am intrigued by the caramel candy corn though...sounds delicious!

I think you and my husband could be candy corn soul mates. He LOVES them, but it has to be "Brachs" brand. I am diabetic and I have a passion for candy, especially chocolate covered peanuts. The temptation gets so hard to resist. I must admit I have fallen short of overcoming many times. PLEASE don't tell my Doctor. You did real good and I will try that next time I'm in the candy store.

Thanks for sharing,

Just stumbled upon your blog from Life in the Parsonage...couldn't resist your title. Fortunately I cannot stand candy corn so I don't have that temptation this time of year...unfortunately, I an a chocolate addict so I need to fight the temptation daily.

candy corn is sooo good, but after one my teeth curl up into my head they are so sugary.

Jelly Bellies, however, are another matter altogether. I can't even have them around.

Kudos to you for self control. It's the small battles that matter... like the one I lost with a bear claw (pastry, not an actual bear) this morning.

Visiting your blog today...the title of your blog is probably one of the best I have ever seen...LOVE IT!

You have some insane will power to leave the candy isle empty handed...care to send some of that will power this way?!?

I love Candy Corn! This time of year when I see the Fall decorations I start craving it! It is sickening sweet--and I find that it's hard to quit...then I regret it too! I've not bought any yet, but probably will!

My weakness? Maple nut goodies. They are my downfall. I enjoy your blog.

I have the same issue with candy corn in particular. I love it and look forward to the fall when it becomes available again. And then I hate it and never want to see it again...
